GISIG Events

At different points in the calendar year, GISIG holds events to showcase resources, debate best practice and provide teachers with the skills and ideas to introduce global issues into their classrooms more effectively. Though recordings of many of these events are accessible to IATEFL GISIG members only, we recognise that this SIG membership is beyond the means of many of our fellow educators. In solidarity, and to support the professional development of the wider global community of ELT professionals, we aim to regularly supplement member-only events with events that are freely available to all.

Visit the main IATEFL website to see up-coming events, and to register to join them.

IATEFL International Conference

The IATEFL International Conference each year includes many sessions in the academic programme of over 600 sessions which are focused on teaching and learning connected to global issues. Visit the Conference website for further information on attending the IATEFL International Conference.

IATEFL Themes Online Conference

The Themes Online Conference identifies some of the most talked-about, significant and provocative sessions from that year's IATEFL International Conference, and provides another opportunity to attend these sessions, this time online. The Themes Online Conference is free for IATEFL members to attend, and very low cost for non-members to join too, with a discount being offered to members of IATEFL Associate teaching associations.
